I chose this piece by Kiki Smith because, compared to her other works, it seemed to be simple. Also, the name of the work, Blue Moon III, was somewhat generic. When I looked at her other works I got an uncomfortable vibe however, with this piece, I realized that Smith is very unpredictable. By this I mean that as soon as I thought I had her style pinned down, I found this bronze piece that I myself would like to own. I thought I didn't like her work until I found this piece. Being that it was made more recently, 2011, it may be that she has toned down her work as she grew as an artist.
