Neptune and Triton

'Neptune and Triton', marble and copper statue by Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680), Italy, about 1622-23. Museum no. A.18:1-1950, © Victoria and Albert Museum, London
I chose the sculpture of Neptune and Triton by Bernini because the sculpture is life size and has incredible detail. Bernini used such detail that you are able to see how aggressive each individual is
in the task that they are perusing. Bernini added such detail that it looks like the wind is blowing Neptune's hair and beard away from his face, and is blowing up the ends of his cloak into two great spirals.
