Joseph Beuys, Brasilienfond, 1979
At first glance I didn't appreciate this piece, it looked like slabs of soft material that felt nice to touch but didn't strike me anything special. I investigated it further walking in between 2 of the pieces while talking to Sam since we went to the trip alone without the class due to conflicts with our swim schedule. While he was mid sentence I walked through and it suddenly was almost completely silent but could tell Sam didn't stop talking. I realized that this piece was stopping the sound waves from bouncing back and forth creating a silent area which is really amazing part of the sculpture.
